CYCLE HIRE - MONSAL TRAIL
Hassop Cafe- is in the same village of Peak District Hideout. It hosts a wonderful cafe with delicious food from a slice of cake to mouth-watering burgers. You can take advantage of the Monsal trail by going on a relaxing walk or hire a bike and cycle the trail, it can take you straight into the beautiful quaint town of Bakewell.
(Tandem bikes are also available for hire!)
PEAK ALES - MICRO BREWERY
An award-winning brewery and gin distillery set on the beautiful Chatsworth Estate. Stop off and purchase an ice -cold ale or a refreshing gin and tonic. Take part in a brewery tour, with lots of tasting opportunities. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a day out in this stunning location.
LEARN TO FARM - MILK A COW
Peak District Hideout is nestled on an organic working farm. We will take you on a tour around the farm where you can milk a cow, feed the calves and enjoy a picnic amongst the beautiful scenery of the Peak District. Email in advance to book.
FARM VENDING MACHINE
Visit our farm, and buy fresh, organic milk or milkshakes. It is produced by our happy herd of organic, free range cows, right here on the farm. We have a variety of different milkshakes such as strawberry, cappuccino, bubblegum, oreo just to name a few. Grab yourself the freshest milk around for your breakfast cuppa.
HATHERSAGE OUTDOOR POOL
Hathersage outdoor heated swimming pool is set in a lawned enclosure with a covered veranda to one side. During the summer months, It offers the opportunity to swim in the open air, amidst the glorious Peak District scenery, in water which is heated to 28°C
BAKEWELL TOWN
The birthplace of the Bakewell Pudding!
Said by many to be the heart of the Peak District, the market town of Bakewell is brimming with independent shops, riverside walks, the love lock bridge, charming courtyards and plenty of places to eat and drink. It’s also home of the famous Bakewell Pudding – a mouth-watering sweet treat made to a top-secret recipe.
GO APE- BUXTON
Go Ape! is an outdoor adventure company which runs tree top ropes courses including zip wires and leafy tunnels. They also off Tree Zip Trekking, as well as ground-based Forest Segway Safaris.
POOLE CAVERN - BUXTON
Poole cavern, explore beneath the earth with expert guides, explore the vast limestone caverns see how crystal stalactites have lined the chambers over millions of years. Stroll though beautiful woodland trails to a panoramic Peak District hilltop viewpoint. In the summer they also hold a cinema evening in the cavern.
CARSINGTON WATER
Carsington Water provide fun- filled days where you can hire a kayak, paddle board, a rowing boat or even a sailing boat. Or if you would rather stay on land, hire a bike and enjoy the area’s picturesque trails. After a busy day head back to the cafe and shops to explore.
BUXTON OPERA HOUSE- BUXTON
One of the finest examples of Frank Matcham theatre design, offering a year-round programme of entertainment. From comedians to the Royal Ballet Company. Have a look for further information on their website. Buxton- 35 minutes drive
CHATSWORTH HOUSE & GARDENS
Within walking distance from the cabin, Chatsworth House is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and is known for being one of the most stunning stately homes in the country. The house and gardens are a glorious day out in Derbyshire and are sure to impress every visitor!
HADDON HALL
Haddon Hall stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the River Wye. One of the finest examples of a Medieval and Tudor manor house, open to visitors, with wonderful gardens.Visit Haddon Hall and truly step back in time.
